Total Ayahs: 59
Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah Ad-Dukhan opens with the prophecy of an apocalyptic smoke that will envelop people as a sign. It draws lessons from Pharaoh's destruction despite his worldly power and contrasts the fate of the arrogant with the protection of righteous believers. The Surah emphasizes the Quran's revelation during Laylatul-Qadr as a supreme mercy.
Divine signs manifest in history and cosmology. Worldly power cannot avert divine punishment. The Quran is a night of profound mercy.
The Prophet (PBUH) sought refuge from the Dukhan's punishment. Its recitation is recommended during Ramadan. Scholars analyze its eschatological timeline.
- 'We sent it down during a blessed night...'
Leave the sea parted; they are an army destined to drown.'
Thus! And We will marry them to fair companions.'
Miracles manifest divine will. Arrogance precedes destruction. Spiritual rewards transcend earthly imaginings.
