Surah Al-Fil recounts the miraculous event of the Year of the Elephant when Allah protected the Ka‘bah from Abraha’s army, which came with elephants intending to destroy it. Allah sent flocks of birds that pelted the army with stones of clay. The Surah highlights Allah's absolute power and His protection of sacred places against those with evil intentions.
Arrogant power is no match for divine will. Allah protects what He wills in ways beyond human imagination.
Reciting it strengthens faith in divine protection, especially during times of perceived danger or threats. It’s also associated with invoking Allah’s help against oppressors.
