Surah Al-Furqan responds to the Makkan disbelievers' objections against the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It establishes the Quran as the divine criterion between truth and falsehood, refuting seven major accusations against Islam. The Surah describes the sublime character of true believers ('Ibadur-Rahman') and contrasts them with the fate of disbelievers. It concludes with powerful arguments proving Muhammad's (PBUH) prophethood.
The Quran is the ultimate criterion for truth. God's servants are distinguished by their noble character. Prophets consistently face rejection but are ultimately vindicated.
The Prophet (PBUH) would recite this Surah frequently, especially the verses about 'Ibadur-Rahman' (Servants of the Merciful). Its recitation strengthens faith against doubts and cultivates ideal Islamic character. Scholars note its effectiveness in da'wah (Islamic outreach).
- 'Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant...'
- 'The servants of the Most Merciful walk upon the earth humbly...'
- 'Say: My Lord would not care about you if not for your supplication...'
True believers embody humility and wisdom. The Quran answers all fundamental human questions. Supplication maintains divine connection.
