Surah Al-Ghashiyah paints contrasting scenes: the doomed faces of the transgressors in Hell, and the radiant contentment of the believers in Paradise. It urges reflection on natural miracles—camels, sky, mountains, earth, watering—to remind people of Allah’s mastery. It ends by instructing the Prophet ﷺ to simply remind humanity, for guidance is not his responsibility.
The hereafter is certain and categorical—judgment brings eternal outcomes. Reflection on creation inspires humility and awareness. The Prophet’s role is to convey and warn; guidance remains a personal choice.
Recitation reinforces awareness of the Day of Judgment, humbles the heart, and inspires gratitude. It was commonly recited by the Prophet ﷺ in the Friday Khutbah for its profound impact.
88:1–7 (contrast of the doomed and the blessed; creation signs); 88:21–22 (“So remind, for you are only a reminder.”)
Let the reality of the afterlife orient your life; learn from every sign around you and share guidance without coercion.
