Meaning: The Cleaving
Total Ayahs: 19
Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah Al-Infitar opens with dramatic cosmic upheaval—skies splitting, falling stars, bursting seas, and graves emptied. It warns humankind of neglecting divine accountability despite angels recording all deeds. The righteous and wicked are separated by their records. Only those who align with truth and do good will find ease, while those who ignore accountability face a dire reckoning.
Every action—small or great—is recorded and will be judged. The Day of Resurrection is inevitable; Heaven or Hell depends on one’s conscience-guided choices marked in divine records.
Reciting this Surah instills awe of the Hereafter, sharpens moral vigilance, reminds the believer that they are always under the gaze of Allah, and promotes justice and patience. It is reported to bring clarity of purpose and comfort in accountability.
82:1–5: vivid cosmic signs; 82:10–12: Guardian angels recording deeds.
Live with consciousness of divine oversight and accountability—every word and deed counts.
