Surah Al-Mutaffifin condemns those who cheat in weights and measures, exposing a widespread moral corruption rooted in disbelief in the Hereafter. It warns of their fate: Hell-fire and disgrace. Then it describes the righteous—who fear the Day of Requital—as guided, content, and drinking sealed pure wine. The Surah contrasts these two paths and emphasizes individual accountability.
Dishonesty in worldly dealings corrupts both society and soul; belief in resurrection is the foundation of genuine justice. True success lies not in gains but in deeds aligned with divine guidance.
Reciting it fosters honesty in business, reminds of spiritual repercussions of cheating, builds consciousness of the Hereafter, encourages self-correction, and protects from becoming 'rusty-hearted'—a heart hardened by sin.
83:1–3 – Warning against fraud; 83:29–36 – Righteous contrasted with deceitful.
Let integrity prevail over profit; embed ethics in everyday life, grounded in accountability to Allah.
