Meaning: The Striking Calamity
Total Ayahs: 11
Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah Al-Qari'ah depicts the overwhelming calamity of the Last Day—crushing like scattered moths or hills like carded wool. Every soul’s weight of deeds is weighed: as light as dust, it leads to Hell; as heavy, it brings happiness. The chapters serve as stark reminders that the world’s illusions will be vanquished and one’s eternal fate hinges on moral weight.
The final reckoning will be absolute and fair. Human reality is tested by moral substance: true success is quantified, not by pride or wealth, but by weighed deeds.
Recitation strengthens awareness of moral weight, instills humility, clarifies purpose, quickens repentance, and encourages conscientious living in preparation for the Day of Reckoning.
101:4–6 — “It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed”; 101:8–9 — “Then as for one whose scales are heavy, He will be in a pleasant life...”
Measure life by its impact—not appearances. Build a conscious legacy through good deeds.
