Surah Al-Waqi'ah begins with the onset of the inevitable Day of Resurrection. Humanity is classified into three groups: the foremost, the companions of the right, and the companions of the left. It rehearses arguments against disbelievers, highlights creation signs, details Paradise’s rewards (gardens, fruits, companions), and describes Hellfire. It ends affirming the Quran’s authenticity and reminding that its recitation is a blessing for believers.
The Day of Judgment is certain; people will be judged and sorted based on deeds. Affirming resurrection, the Quran is the criterion for moral accountability.
Recitation instills awe for the Afterlife, motivates righteous deeds, and nurtures hope through vivid depictions of Paradise and Hell.
56:1-3 "إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ * لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ * خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ" – ‘When the Inevitable happens—there is no denying its occurrence. It will bring low (some) and exalt (others).’
56:96 "فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ" – ‘So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.’
Live with the Hereafter in view; strive to be among the foremost with knowledge and do good; heed moral warnings and hold firm to the Quran.
