Meaning: The Tidings
Total Ayahs: 40
Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah An-Naba begins by addressing the disbelievers who question the coming of the “Great News” (Day of Judgment), then transitions to powerful reminders of what Allah has created—the earth, mountains, gardens, rain—using these as proof. It continues by unfolding the heralded Last Day: its chaos, the separation of souls, reward and punishment. The vivid imagery encourages reflection on the fleeting nature of worldly life and the permanence of eternity.
Contemplation of creation should naturally lead to belief in the Hereafter. Denial of this Day is not rooted in reason but stubbornness, and justice will manifest decisively.
Reciting this Surah strengthens faith in divine justice, brings inner tranquility, enhances consciousness of accountability, supports mental clarity, aids in endurance during hardship, and is even associated with support during travel and boosting eyesight for those who recite it regularly.
78:1–5 (challenge and natural signs); 78:31–36 (promise and punishment scenes).
Let creation be your teacher; transition from doubt to devotion; prepare for the inevitable without hesitation.
Al-Basir (All-Seeing), Al-Hakam (The Judge), Ar-Rahman (Most Merciful)
