Total Ayahs: 78
Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah Ar-Rahman enumerates countless blessings of Allah—creation of humans, jinn, heavens, earth, plants, seas—and repeatedly asks, “Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?” It contrasts the rewards for the righteous (gardens, fruit, maidens) with the punishment for disbelievers. It addresses both jinn and humans, urging gratitude and mindfulness.
Allah’s boundless mercy permeates creation; gratitude is demanded. Every blessing is a sign to acknowledge His oneness and goodness.
Brings spiritual tranquility, cultivates gratitude, jealous reflection leads to moral reform. Recitation is soothing and elevates faith; believed to ward off calamities.
55:1-4 "الرَّحْمَٰنُ * عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ * خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ..." – ‘The Most Merciful taught the Qur’an, created man...’
Repeated refrain: "فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ" – ‘Which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?’
Live in gratitude, acknowledge every blessing, strive for righteousness, and balance hope and fear.
