Meaning: Muhammad (The Prophet's Name)
Total Ayahs: 38
Place of Revelation: Medina
Surah Muhammad emphasizes the contrast between believers and disbelievers, particularly in the context of jihad (struggle in Allah's cause). It discusses the futility of the disbelievers' efforts against Islam and reassures the believers of divine support. It also warns hypocrites and stresses the importance of spending in Allah's way.
True believers fight for Allah's cause with sincerity. Hypocrisy leads to ruin, while faith and jihad bring divine assistance.
Reciting this Surah strengthens resolve in facing hardships for Islam. The Prophet (PBUH) encouraged its recitation for protection in battles (Ibn Kathir). It is also a reminder of the importance of sincerity in faith and actions.
- 'But those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad...'
- 'O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you...'
Hypocrisy nullifies deeds. True victory comes with divine help. Spending in Allah’s way is a sign of true faith.
