Place of Revelation: Mecca
Surah Saba recounts the rise and fall of the ancient civilization of Sheba as a warning against ingratitude and arrogance. It refutes the disbelievers' denial of resurrection by showcasing Allah's control over nature and history. The Surah also exposes Satan's deception and contrasts the fleeting nature of worldly power with eternal divine justice.
Civilizations thrive with gratitude and collapse with arrogance. Satan's promises are false. Resurrection reconstructs all deeds with perfect justice.
The Prophet (PBUH) would recite it for its powerful refutation of materialism. Its stories cultivate gratitude. Scholars note its effectiveness against black magic (due to verses 41-42).
- 'There was indeed a sign for Sheba in their homeland...'
- 'Say: I advise you one thing—that you stand for Allah...'
- 'Say: Truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin nor repeat...'
Blessings multiply with gratitude. Worldly power without faith is doomed. Truth ultimately prevails.
